This is something I’ve only just stumbled across. At first glance I thought it was counter intuitive. However, on reflection I do find the system overall more engaging with having comments as separate stories. It stops them from getting lost in an endless list of comments, ensuring that comments with the most insight (claps/responses) are always prioritised.
